Meet our team
Sally completed her Optometry Degree at Melbourne University in 1990. She was one of the first optometrists in Victoria to complete Therapeutics Training and has also done further study in Low Vision, Children's Vision and Behavioural Optometry.
Sally is a Fellow of The Australian College of Optometry and a member of the Australian College of Behavioural Optometrists and a member of the Contact Lens Society of Australia.
Sally enjoys consulting in all areas of optometry. Sally has served on the Optometrists Registration Board of Victoria for 9 years and on the Council of the Optometrists Association, Victorian Division for 5 years. Outside of optometry, Sally enjoys spending time with her family and keeping fit.
Dean completed his Doctor of Optometry degree at The University of Melbourne with part of his training conducted in Canada. He has also completed further training in behavioural optometry and vision therapy under The Optometric Extension Program Foundation. Before this, he gained a Bachelor of Medical Science with First Class Honours at The Australian National University. He wrote his thesis in the field of visual neuroscience, with an interest in age-related macular degeneration.
Dean joined the practice in early 2013, so is a familiar and friendly face to many of our patients. He enjoys working with people of all ages and strives for a holistic approach to optometric practice. He has a special interest in the detection of eye disease including dry-eye, glaucoma and macular degeneration and enjoys having access to the state-of-the-art equipment at FNEC.
He is a current member of The Corneal and Contact Lens Society of Australia and of The Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists.
Jayami completed her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Melbourne and undertook her internship at Tilganga Eye Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. Upon graduating, she worked at a behavioural optometric practice in Wodonga for over a year. She did further training in behavioural optometric care and vision therapy through the Optometric Extension Program Foundation.
Before coming to Melbourne, Jayami completed her Bachelor of Biomedical Science with a special interest in neuroscience at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She worked in research and development at an Auckland pharmaceutical company.
As an optometrist, Jayami enjoys connecting with people and has a particular interest in children's vision and contact lenses. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family.
Meagan completed her Optometry Degree at the University of New South Wales in 1993, graduating with Honours. She has also completed further post graduate training in Ocular Therapeutics and Advanced Contact Lenses.
Meagan is a member of The Australian College of Optometry and a member of the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania.
Meagan enjoys all aspects of optometry consulting. She has a special interest in the areas of myopia management and specialty contact lens fitting. Outside of work Meagan enjoys family time and travel.
Practice Manager, Optical Dispenser & Vision Therapist
Valentine is our resident French optical dispenser who has worked in the industry for over 10 years both in Australia and in France. She has a creative flare and looks after our display windows at our practice. Her next step is to become a qualified vision therapist and work in our resourceful team.
In her leisure time she enjoys painting, going for long walks, cooking traditional French meals and trying new places for brunch.

Brooke originates from Far North Queensland and has recently moved down to Melbourne to escape the heat!
She is a qualified optical dispenser and has worked in the industry for 3 years. She is excited to further her career in the optical industry and learn as much as she can to better help our customers. Vision Therapy is the next area she wishes to tackle.
In her spare time, she loves to play sport, immerse herself in all aspects of Melbourne including the sights, going to music festivals and indulging in the amazing food and wine that Melbourne has to offer.
Saskia Van Oorschot
Saskia is a qualified optical dispenser who has worked in the industry for 6 years, her focus and passion is to continue to expand her knowledge in optics, she finds it very rewarding and strives to provide our customers with remarkable service.In her spare time she likes to explore Melbourne, snowboard and is currently trying to learn dutch, wens haar geluk!
Milena, our part time Receptionist and Vision Therapist, worked for the previous owner Mr Hytin Gyaw, as a receptionist for three years, as well as being one of his patients. Milena began working at Fitzroy North Eye Centre in 2004 and has since trained as a Vision Therapist. She now enjoys teaching Vision Therapy at FNEC and finds great satisfaction watching the progress of her Vision Therapy clients.
